Modern Eden Gallery is pleased to present the third annual exhibition celebrating Lunar New Year and the zodiac cycle for 2025: The Snake! Artworks explore overarching themes of Lunar New Year including new beginnings, fortune, happiness, and health.
The Year of the Snake is one of the twelve zodiac signs in the Chinese lunar calendar. People born under this sign are considered intelligent, wise and charming. The Snake is associated with wisdom and beauty and is believed to bring good luck and prosperity.
The origin of the Snake symbol in the Chinese calendar dates back to ancient beliefs and mythologies where the Snake is often seen as a symbol of transformation and rebirth, as it periodically sheds its skin. This characteristic has been interpreted as a sign of renewal and growth, making the Snake a powerful and respected symbol in Chinese culture. In this exhibition it is celebrated by visual artists through sculptures, oil paintings and graphics.
