Last weekend, from January 31 to February 2, Paris once again became the global capital of tattooing with the Mondial du Tatouage, organized as always by Tin Tin.
The event showcased the grandeur of its impeccable organizational setup at the Gare de La Villette (19th arrondissement), enhancing an already iconic event in a landmark building that set the stage for three days of pure celebration of art on skin.
The Gare de La Villette was transformed into an artistic hub, where internationally renowned tattoo artists displayed their talents before an audience of enthusiasts and industry insiders.
Over 550 tattoo artists from 50 countries worked for three days across the large ground-floor area and the galleries above, offering visitors a world tour through the tattoos of artists from France, Europe, South America, China, Japan, Singapore, Korea, the United States, Canada, and Australia. On the large stage that has always been a signature of the event, the highly popular tattoo contests took place over the three days. The historic BIG jury was present in full force (Mark Mahoney, Kari Barba, Filip Leu, Jukko Shimada, and Luke Atkinson), with Tin-Tin, of course, also taking part. Long lines of participants submitted their tattoos for the proposed categories, and here are the winners of the major categories:

In addition to tattooing, the Mondial du Tatouage offered an immersive experience through its exhibitions, including Guen Duglas‘ vibrant full-colour works, Isabella Stabile’s pieces, historical photographs by Horimono Shashin, and Jee Sayalero’s pop-inspired characters. The exhibition area also featured the powerful paintings of French tattoo artist Maud Dardeau, while the “Tattoo Market”, jewelry, fashion, books, photography etc…, this time including Japanese Antique Seller (mid-19th century to 1970s) offered a variety of items, including kimonos, body products, and jewellery. Above all, the concerts were a major highlight, with the organisers giving them great attention by turning them into a show within a show.
These performances attracted new audiences, offering them a chance to experience the tattoo world up close. Among the acts were the historic British metal band Carcass, the Finnish grindcore band Rotten Sound and Brujeria, the French post-punk duo Bracco, and the cold wave sounds of Frustration.
With over 15.000 visitors and an outstanding artistic lineup, the Mondial du Tatouage 2025 reaffirmed its status as a must-attend event for the global tattoo scene.
