Let’s take a tour of Italian tattoo with the Italian Tattoo Artists Yearbook 2021-2022
It’s out now on newsstands, fresh off the press, the Italian Tattoo Artists Yearbook 2021-2022.
With almost 500 pages and hundreds tattooists, this new edition of the Italian Tattoo Artists Yearbook gives a fresh overview of the scene in Italy, a new up to the minute map to reflect the current situation.
A situation which has undergone so many changes from one year to the next due to the pandemic which has brought about changes of shop location, closures and re-openings, perhaps even in new locations with new crews. A point from which to start out afresh, give it their best shot, maybe with a new approach and a new address.
Page after page where styles, subjects, colour or black and white alternate in a kaleidoscope of thousands of tattoos to take in all in one go or to study in detail, taking note and contextualising depending on the tattoo artist who created the piece.
A magazine to flick through at your leisure and also to treasure, curated as always by Tattoo Life with an eye on the graphics so as to present each artist and their shop in the best light. Just as the almost three hundred tattooists who took part from all over Italy took care to deck out their double spread showcase.
Tattoo artists from the big cities where sometimes the shops jostle one another for space or from small towns in the middle of nowhere which perhaps because of the tattoo shop which they opened there have become places of pilgrimage for a particular style or one artist’s personal interpretation and vision of this art.
