When art x technology meets tradition.
The new frontier in art is NFT: this is the premise for a new project by a group of 16 artists in collaboration with Art tattoo Montreal which marks the beginning of the first NFT edition art, the first digital 3D/Museum Gallery where Tattoo and Generative Art turn into an NFT, as recounted to Tattoo Life by Pierre Chapelan of Tattoo Mania, Montreal. People from all over the world will be able to own their own unique Dokuro as an NFT and shouldn’t miss on this opportunity to be first. 1111 original one of one Dokuros will be available on the blockchain including sixteen special edition Characters that have tattoos from only one of each of the featured artists.
It is a very exciting place to be now. The speed at which art is progressing nowadays is unbelievable. Being on that train and seeing people get on is so much fun. Next station might just be a great place to be. The beauty of this NFT project is that it is the first of its type, a collaboration between famous, talented artists that create generative tattoo related art. Being able to say that you own part of tattoo history to my eyes means a lot.
The tattoo community is very passionate and getting your hands on a unique 1st edition of this collaboration is something to think about. NFT are made in such a way that it is very easy to see history of ownership so it will be super interesting to see between which players these will be traded. NFTs are modern fossils, Dokuro is one of them and the first of its kind.
As we head into the New Year we can’t help but reflect on the rapid pace the world has changed at. During ever evolving times, it is important to remain involved in the future changes to stay current. Some tattooers were willing to step forward and be part of a new collective project that combines art and technology by taking one of the oldest art forms, tattooing, and mixing it with Generative Art and turning it into an NFT.
Generative art is really like a tattoo collector going around a convention collecting pieces from artists from all over the world. In collaboration with Art Tattoo Montreal, 16 artists were picked for this first NFT edition. Art with friends was created as an opportunity to bring tattooing into the digital world by showcasing artists whose medium is primarily paper and skin and showing the world that tattooing is equally a part of the digital art world.
Only fools don’t change their mind: Remember when art had to be on canvas?
Tattoo artists fought to prove it was as equally artistic when done on people’s skin and now it is seen as a complete art form. Tattoo artists were always unconventional and open minded and that is why we should view these newest mediums as a window into the future. When art is created it is meant to touch people and bring them together. Artists used to meet in cafes and tattooers met at conventions. The pandemic changed all of that, so technology is helping create a new space for art to live on. When we start to travel and visit the world again, digital art can follow us as easy as a pencil and paper.
Generative art is helping Dokuro collect tattoos from amazing artists alongside props and items just like someone would in the real world.
This generative project randomly selected six tattoos from 16 different tattoo artists to mix&match on Dokuro’s body as well as different props and accessories to give each Dokuro its uniqueness.
People from all over the world will be able to own their own unique Dokuro as an NFT and shouldn’t miss out on this opportunity to be first. 1111 original one of one Dokuros will be available on the blockchain including sixteen special edition Characters that have tattoos from only one of each of the featured artists.
We are creating a digital 3D museum/gallery. With our vision you will be able to see the artwork, hang out and speak with artists and visitors. You can attend from home or wherever in the world you may be, while enjoying a glass of wine or your drink of choice.
