Until a few years ago realism in tattooing was mostly in black and grey or in colours as close as possible to reality, today however the real is becoming unreal through colour while still maintaining fidelity to forms.
And alongside subjects such as portraits or animals, we find fantastic characters from movies and TV series, or again, even more common in today’s tattoo scene, woman’s faces similar to avatars characterized by bright lights and surreal colours to enhance the power of the emerging figure.
The skill of the artist, like in the tattoos we show here, lies in making the colours so emphasised truly permanent, achieved through mastery of tattoo pigment techniques and a perfect understanding of the rules for successful execution. This minimizes the risk of the vibrant colours fading away over time along with the shapes of the tattoo.
