The British talent new album will be released on May 26th while her European tour including capitals such as London and Paris will kick off next September.
Arlo Parks, two-time Grammy-nominated, Mercury Prize and BRIT Award winning artist, announced the release of her second album, ‘My Soft Machine,’ due May 26 on Transgressive Records.
Regarding this Arlo Parks shared the first taste of the new record too: ‘Weightless,’ an ethereal, warm and cinematic offering that once again showcases her writing talent..
You can watch the official video of ‘Weightless’ directed by Marc Oller at the links below:
About the single Arlo Parks says: «Well, ‘Weightless’ surrounds the painful experience of caring deeply about someone who only gives you tiny breadcrumbs of affection. It’s about suddenly realizing that a person has dulled your edges and embarking on the slow journey back to being a brighter version of yourself.»
‘My Soft Machine’ is a deeply personal work, a narrative of Parks’ experiences over the course of her twenties and the growth intertwined with them.
This sentiment is explained by the British artist thus: «This record called ‘My Soft Machine’ is life through my lens, through my body – the mid 20s anxiety, the substance abuse of friends around me, the viscera of being in love for the first time, navigating PTSD and grief and self sabotage and joy, moving through worlds with wonder and sensitivity – what it’s like to be trapped in this particular body.»
Arlo Parks has announced a series of her UK and European tour dates for September 2023.
The solo tour comes after performing alongside artists such as Harry Styles at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Billie Eilish at the O2 in London, Florence & The Machine in Canada, and Clairo on his North American tour.
